Vote NO on 4
Amendment 4 is a proposed amendment to the Florida Constitution that would essentially establish an unlimited right to abortion throughout pregnancy even when the heartbeat of the preborn child is detected, when the preborn child can experience pain, and when the child is capable of living outside the womb.
Amendment 4 will appear on the November 5, 2024, ballot and require approval from 60% of the electorate to pass.
We urge all parishes, schools, families, ministries, and individual Catholics to encourage voters to join in our opposition and reject this extreme and ill-conceived proposition.

Talking Points
- Amendment 4 doesn’t just repeal ONE abortion law, it repeals ALL of them: parental consent laws, laws that prevent taxpayers from funding abortions, and even laws that say only doctors can perform abortions.
- Millions of dollars supporting Amendment 4 comes from dark money groups tied to liberal billionaires like George Soros who push radical gender ideology and try to limit parents’ influence over their kids’ education and even their healthcare.
- Amendment 4 allows abortion for any reason through viability, which is at six months pregnant, plus permitting abortion at any point after that because of its many loopholes. Six months pregnant and beyond is too late to allow abortions.
- There comes a time in every pregnancy where it is just too late to allow an abortion.
- Amendment 4 goes too far by allowing late term abortion when science says the baby is capable of feeling pain.
- This amendment would overturn the Florida law that prohibits public funding of abortion, which could lead to Florida taxpayers being forced to pay for abortions.
- Amendment 4 would overturn current laws requiring a parent’s consent before a minor can have an abortion, thereby making abortion the only medical procedure that can be performed on a minor without a parent’s permission.
- Amendment 4 goes too far by permanently and forever preventing any law, now or in the future, from delaying any abortion for any reason.
- All ballot initiatives are required by law to contain a fiscal impact statement. It’s the “fine print” of amendments and shown on the ballot for all to read, and it says Amendment 4 would overturn Florida’s parental consent laws and force taxpayers to fund abortions.
